Mike Lewis

PRESIDENT / PRINCIPAL

Mike has spent the past 27 years of his professional career in the water and wastewater industry. He led the efforts to expand the tank asset maintenance concept nationwide during this time and he also created a similar asset maintenance model for the wastewater industry. Mike attributes his success to a simple philosophy “Take care of the customer and everything will be just fine”. It’s this simple core belief in customer focus that is the Mission Statement of American Tank Maintenance, Deliver Value, Quality and World Class Service to our Customers. Mike welcomes an opportunity to have a meaningful conversation today!

Sheldon Shelton

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT / PRINCIPAL - SALES

Sheldon has spent his entire life in the water tank industry. His father and grandfather were pioneers in the tank maintenance industry and as such Sheldon has worked in the industry since a teenager in high school. After graduating from college Sheldon went to work full time in the family business. His experience ranges from a helper on a washout crew to senior executive of sales operations.

Chris Boyd

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT / PRINCIPAL - OPERATIONS

As the Executive Vice President and Operations Director of American Tank Maintenance, I am fully dedicated to prioritizing our customers’ needs and ensuring their utmost satisfaction. My commitment extends to delivering high-quality tank maintenance, maintaining transparent communication channels, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. We strive to exceed customer expectations by leveraging innovative solutions, optimizing operational efficiency, and consistently delivering superior results.

BACKGROUND: For the last 41 years, Chris has dedicated his professional career to managing businesses focused on highly efficient production and delivering superior customer service. His combination of a pragmatic mindset and an engineering background serves as the foundation for achieving operational excellence at American Tank Maintenance.

Massie Hughes

REGIONAL SALES DIRECTOR - Northern Mississippi, Tennessee, Northern Georgia, South Carolina

Massie is a dedicated and driven professional who has over 9 years experience in the water tank industry. He has held various positions in the industry ranging from a Water System Consultant and National Training Director to Regional Vice President. Prior to joining the water industry, Massie served his country for 20 years as a Navy Helicopter Pilot.

He is a recognized leader in the water tower space and is dedicated to providing you with the most effective tank maintenance solutions and the highest level of customer service.

Michael Szabo

REGIONAL SALES DIRECTOR - Northern Alabama

Michael is the consummate professional and has 20 years of experience in the water tank industry providing superior service to his customer base in Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. Prior to entering the industry Michael served his country for 14 years in the Army. He is a combat vet of Panama, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Michael has transferred this selfless dedication for others into his professional career. He is a member of the Alabama and Florida Rural Water Associations and is dedicated to providing high value tank maintenance solutions to his service area.

Alex Shelton

Regional Sales Director - North Carolina

As your dedicated account manager, I am committed to providing you with exceptional service and support to maintain your water storage tanks. Your tank maintenance is my priority, and I will work diligently to ensure effective communication, timely responses, and tailored solutions to maximize the value of our service. Together, we will build a partnership based on trust, transparency, and mutual growth.

BACKGROUND: Having grown up as the fourth generation of his family in the tank maintenance industry, Alex has gained valuable experience and insights in various roles in the field. Starting from working on washout, paint, and repair crews to transitioning into being an account manager, he has equipped himself with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide exceptional service for his clients.

Charles Belcher

Senior Sales Director

Charles is a proven professional in the water tank industry with 40 years of experience. He has been a member of the Georgia Rural Water Association for over 32 years. Charles promoted the first tank maintenance programs in Georgia. He is able to provide background knowledge on most of the potable water tanks in the State of Georgia by memory! Charles’s stellar reputation is well known in the industry via his strong customer relationships.

BACKGROUND: Charles has been a member of Georgia Rural Water since its inception in 1979. He was part of the team that developed and promoted the first water tank maintenance program services in the nation. His experience and reputation are unquestioned in the industry.

Barrett Stanley

Regional Sales Director - Southern Mississippi

During his college years Barrett held numerous leadership positions and interned in the Legislative Affairs Office of Georgia’s Former Governor Nathan Deal. After graduating he worked at State Farm Insurance learning how to serve people. After joining our team, he put in hard work on the crews and learned a lot about the operational side of tanks. Barrett has now transitioned to sales where he looks to build long term relationships with customers by bringing them value and great customer service.

Keith Waites

Regional Sales Director – Southern Alabama / Florida Panhandle

Keith has been in the water industry all of his professional career. He worked in the water well drilling industry since 2001 and has deep knowledge and experience in residential and agricultural drilling and well development. He has also owned and operated a successful residential water filtration business beginning in 2004. He is a customer-focused problem solver who has individually managed hundreds of projects with a commitment to superior quality, accuracy, service and responsiveness.

Ty Shelton

Regional Sales Director - Central & Southern Georgia, Mainland of Florida

As your dedicated account manager, I am committed to providing you with exceptional service and support to maintain your water storage tanks. Background: As the first of the fifth generation in his family to serve in the water tank maintenance industry, Ty brings a unique perspective shaped by a lifelong immersion in the trade. From hands-on field operations in washouts and repairs to professional account management, he possesses a comprehensive understanding of tank longevity. Leveraging his generational knowledge in the industry, he will continue to deliver the same high standard of excellence to his customers that his family has provided for decades.

Mike Arnold

Senior Operations Engineer

As a 30-year veteran, I have developed qualities that I utilize throughout my daily life that will benefit our customers. I believe that the standard is the minimum, so I pursue to exceed the standards, but most of all I seek to surpass my own expectations. As an Engineer, I will always push forward to deliver a product and results that will transcend our customers’ standards. I promise to provide you with excellence in service, dedication, innovation, and craftsmanship. I will prioritize our customers’ needs and concerns through continuous consultation and feedback, so that your requirements will be delivered with exemplary results in a timely manner.

BACKGROUND: Retired CWO4 from the US Coast Guard, with 30 years of dedicated and distinguished service. Engineering Divisional Officer across 9 states specializing in Project Management, Civil, and Facility Engineering.

EXPERIENCE: 30 years of Active-duty service in an engineering position with 15 years’ experience as a Civil and Facility Engineering specializing in federal project management. Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering with high acuity in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Hydrodynamics, Thermodynamics, and Engineering Occupational Safety.

Heath Boyd

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Heath has 5 years of engineering and project management experience across multiple fields. He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Georgia College & State University. Heath’s technical skills have given him a focus on detail and high quality of work. Heath oversees project management, scheduling, and customer satisfaction with American Tank Maintenance.

Doug Byrd

MANAGER - FIELD OPERATIONS

Doug has dedicated his professional career for the past 30 years in field operations for the water tank industry. He has extensive experience in field painting, logo application, repairs, and inspections.   He is a member of NACE International, The Corrosion Society (NACE # 17409). Doug’s commitment to quality and customer service are unparalleled in the industry.

Blade Dixon

Operations Resource Manager

I am committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers and making sure every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Whether I am coordinating the resources behind the scenes or stepping in on the more challenging jobs, I focus on always meeting the customer needs and exceeding expectations.

BACKGROUND: Blade has been a critical component for the operations in the water tank maintenance industry over the years. He has experience from serving and leading washout and repair crews along with being a paint inspector. He has certifications in rigging and lifting and high-rise rescue. Today, he oversees our operations center, where he coordinates logistics, supports the crews, and plays a key role in manager our most challenging projects.

Gene Holder

REGIONAL OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Gene’s 30 years of experience in water tank maintenance has provided him with a wealth of knowledge and skills including paint, repair, inspection, and project management. His years of work in the tank industry has allowed him to form a number of great relationships with city engineers, mayors, water department superintendents, and managers. These connections have been preserved by his philosophy that anything worth doing, is worth doing right-the first time.

Gene is a NACE Certified Coatings Inspector –Level 3 (#27247).

Gene believes that customer satisfaction is key. He goes to great lengths to maintain his many customer relationships and looks forward to developing many new ones.

Chris Palmer

Operations & Logistics Coordinator

As the Operations & Logistics Coordinator at American Tank Maintenance, I understand that clear communication and reliable scheduling are the backbone of a successful project. I am committed to ensuring your projects are completed on time and executed to the highest standards. BACKGROUND: With 25 years of experience in the water tank maintenance industry, Chris has spent the majority of his years on the operations and quality control side of the business. He now oversees scheduling and customer satisfaction with American Tank Maintenance.

Emily Terrell

Regional Operations Manager

BACKGROUND: As a detail-oriented professional with experience in technical documentation and years of community leadership, Emily brings her organizational skills to produce clear and accurate reports, support efficient operations, and ensure high standards of customer satisfaction for American Tank Maintenance.

Jonathan Veal, CPA, CMA

Financial Controller

As Financial Controller of American Tank Maintenance, my role is to ensure the financial strength, stability, and transparency that allow our team to consistently deliver high quality service to our customers. I take pride in developing a disciplined financial foundation that supports long-term planning, reliable execution, and accountability. I am committed to building systems and processes that support our customers. By providing clear financial insight and supporting informed decision-making, I help ensure that American Tank Maintenance remains a dependable partner our customers can trust year after year. My focus is not only on managing today’s performance, but on protecting the long-term health of the company so we can continue to meet and exceed customer expectations.

BACKGROUND: Over the past seven years, Jonathan has served as Controller for American Tank Maintenance during a period of significant and sustained growth. In this role, he has been responsible for building financial structure, discipline, and visibility to support a rapidly expanding business.
